As much as we love trucks, advertisers can’t seem to get away from presenting them in the same old light. Seriously, how many truck ads have you seen where a raspy voiced narrator espouses “rock solid” and “tough as nails” capability while a Heavy Duty something-or-other kicks up sand in the desert?
While the inherent objective is to show buyers how the truck is rugged, tough, and capable of traversing all but the biggest rocks, it’s a scenario most owners will never encounter. Not because they don’t want to, but because many just don’t want to see their truck get scratched, dinged and possibly damaged, which is kinda fair.
Which makes it all the better when we actually get to see the folks at Camp Trend take a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, attach a trailer, and head to the desert for a boulder-crushing camping adventure. And not just any old desert, but the Arizona badlands.
Even better, the team manages to find a rarely used trail near the Colorado River, which just amps up the desolation and danger.
The crew faces some pretty intense challenges along the way and its pretty neat to see how they, and the Silverado 2500, manage to keep it all on the straight and narrow.
