Paul Peebles is the owner of North Freeway Hyundai located in Spring, Texas. Otherwise, a normal Hyundai dealer. Except for one little thing; he’s the master mind behind the transformation of his Hyundai dealership into the leading seller of the ill-fated Chevrolet SSR. Yet, there is a twist, as these are no ordinary vehicles.
You may recall the 2005 Chevrolet DinoSSauR that was for sale on Cars.com which we covered a while back, well that vehicle just so happens to be one of the many SSRs that have been sold by Peebles.
It’s quite remarkable to see Peebles making such a success out of selling a vehicle that even the manufacturer couldn’t get people to buy. He has actually been involved with 447 SSR transactions involving 402 different SSR modelss. With just over 24,000 SSRs to leave the assembly plant, Peebles has touched nearly two percent of SSRs produced, now thats commendable. It also allows Peebles to see some pretty rare SSRs, including a couple of the Indianapolis 500 pace car versions.
While most hated the looks of the SSR, there is this niche market of buyers who seem to cherish them. Actually, the market is so strong that Peebles went on to become a sponsor for SSRFanatics.com, an online forum for the SSR community.
