Though it’s still the same basic vehicle that debuted five years ago, the GMC Acadia isn’t exactly showing its age. In fact, Acadia sales are up 8 percent to 29,136 units for the first four months of 2015. No matter, because GMC’s largest crossover is getting a few changes and updates for the 2016 model year.
To start, the Carbon Black Metallic and White Diamond Tricoat colors are replaced with Ebony Twilight Metallic and White Frost Tricoat, both of which are extra-cost colors.
Inside, the 2016 GMC Acadia replaces the LPO-level Mobile Wi-Fi Connectivity Package with OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi. Other interior updates include the SLT-1 trim level adding an 8-way power driver seat with power recline and lumbar control. Along with the outside mirror settings, the seat settings can be stored in the new-for-2016 2-position memory feature. And, the SLT-1 trim also receives Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert active safety features.
Rounding out the changes to the cabin, the lower portion of the steering wheel in the 2016 GMC Acadia Denali is now made of leather rather than wood, allowing the entire wheel to be heated. To emphasize, the change only applies to the 2016 GMC Acadia Denali.
To note, we expect the 2016 model year to be the last model year of the first-generation Lambda-platformed GMC Acadia until the all-new, second-gen model arrives on the C1XX platform.

They need to make some drive train upgrades. It is basically the same as when I was selling them. It really hasn’t change much since 2007. It needs more power in the engine to move all that weight and a 8 speed transmission. I hope they have addressed the timing chain issues and the transmission issues and the leaky sunroof issues, even after a 2009/2010 change to the sunroof they still leaked if the water channels were clogged. Other than being overpriced, No it is not a bad vehicle, I sold them to my relatives and you don’t want to sell family a bad vehicle. It just needs a little tweaking. They should really address the Denali power train. It could use a supercharged or turbo charged engine, and a handling suspension to compete with BMW, Audi etc,

I think they might put turbo on the next gen since I think the Lambda platform can’t handle over 300 hp. But my question is, doesn’t the 2015 already have 4G LTE?

You can only add 3G as an option on the 2015s – not 4G LTE
