Just earlier today, General Motors lobbed a veritable super-bomb at the competition from Ford and Dodge, unveiling the new-for-2016 Chevrolet Camaro, built on the same Alpha platform as what underpins the lithe Cadillac ATS.
The reveal of the new 2016 Camaro was accompanied by plenty of fanfare and festivities, with an event hosted on Detroit’s Belle Isle – a small island which happens to play host to a pretty nifty Grand Prix circuit. And what better way to get the eagerest of Camaro fans pumped for the new reveal than by offering ride-along laps of the Grand Prix circuit in a Camaro Z/28?
Putting driver Dennis Pittsenbarger of Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch behind the wheel is a good start.
Rain be damned, Pittsenbarger drove fans and media around the Belle Isle Grand Prix circuit, in a brand new 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Obviously the Z/28 isn’t built from the new sixth-generation Camaro (yet…), but the car serves as a great refresher as to the great heights to which the Camaro team can climb when the engineers give it 110 percent.
So here’s a video, uploaded by the manufacturer, showing how the monster Z/28 gets around in the wet:
