An automotive dealer in the St. Petersburg, Florida area is hoping for the best after a classic 1968 Chevy Camaro was stolen from the lot of his dealership, Lash Auto Sales, last Wednesday. The car is valued at around $45,000.
The local Bay News on 9 had the story. The Lash Auto Sales owner, Chad Harper, is just hoping to get the car back intact; his dealership is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the recovery of the Camaro. He says that the RS-badged car is comparatively rare, not to mention fully restored.
“Original Chevrolet wheels, original 327 engine,” Harper told Bay News. “It’s a houndstooth interior, which is super super rare. Hideaway lights. This car is beautiful.” The 1968 Camaro had only been on the lot for all of two weeks before it was taken. This is the dealer’s third classic car theft in two years.
“We hope with you guys and all the other ads we’ve been putting on Facebook and Craigslist that maybe somebody will find it or see it,” said the dealer.
