Chevrolet has released an all-new video showing off the 2016 Volt in all its plug-in hybrid glory, as the vehicle ventures from cityscape, to curvy backland roads.
First and foremost, we’re big fans of the new design language. A tip of the hat for a design that doesn’t scream “I’m a plug-in!” but still captures the essence that is the Chevrolet Volt, a milestone no matter your stance on the car’s birth. The car looks great as it rolls through a CGI created city, then to a green forested area and through a barrage of other environments. We especially like the way the tail-lamps glow at night.
The video highlights the massaged powertrain, which can now travel 50 miles on pure electricity. That only furthers the distance the Volt can do, which now checks in at over 400 miles before the car runs of out steam. The all-electric charge is now also 30 percent better, leading to those increased numbers.
It looks like the second-generation of the Chevrolet Volt is poised to be a big one. Check out the video we’ve provided down below. Just don’t expect it during Super Bowl XLIX.
