Yet again, the 2016 Opel Astra has been spied in public in full camouflage, taking some repetitive loops around some local roads. You can find the video of the new Astra over at Vimeo, courtesy of Motor Authority.
As far as we can tell, we’re actually seeing at least three different examples of the 2016 Astra in this video, though all of them are (nearly) identical hatchback variants. We can’t be positive, but that certainly looks like an independent rear-suspension making its debut there, as we’d anticipated. Proportions of the new car look to be unchanged from the current model, but it could lose as much as 220 pounds in the final version.
So far, we have yet to see a more scantily-clad 2016 Astra show its face to the public; this video shows the car at pretty much the same level of undress as we’ve seen from past spy photos and videos. Also curious is that the wheels quite often change from example to example, so the appearance of those, too, remains a mystery. For example, one of the Astras spied in this Motor Authority video wears plain, unadorned steelies.
But good things come to those who wait. And since we’ve been waiting months and months since our first glimpse of the newly redesigned 2016 Opel Astra, it ought to be pretty darn good.
