Joel Rosen had a good thing going when his Motion Performance teamed up with Baldwin Chevrolet to produce the muscle car era’s most outrageous cars. With several states of tune and enough creativity to custom build any car (including a few Brand X vehicles), Baldwin-Motion Chevrolets are among the most desirable collectibles, but their rarity and dealer-bred obscurity makes them difficult to discern.
Luckily for us, Joel Rosen is still with us and can verify the pedigree of any potential Baldwin-Motion find. It’d probably be a good idea to approach him for background on this 1969 Corvette SS427 on eBay. The seller claims he found it in a warehouse in Long Island, not far from Motion’s digs. With the aftermarket Stinger hood, loads of period aftermarket equipment, 40 year-old tires, this Corvette harkens back to an era when street machines were above all.
If you keep up with auctions, you know several Corvettes have recently achieved crazy prices into the millions. Here’s a Corvette that is at least as awesome, is certainly faster, has pedigree, yet can be had for hundreds of thousands of dollars less. For $175,000 Buy It Now, it actually may not be a bad deal.
