This Craigslist seller reminds us that it’s okay to be different in his ad, but most people’s idea of “different” isn’t a 500 horsepower second-generation Chevrolet Cavalier. Still, we wouldn’t blame you if you were a little bit interested in his insane creation.
According to the listing, this Cavalier started out life as a normal 3.4-liter six-cylinder model, but it was then bored out to 3.7-liters. The owner also installed a 56mm turbocharger, forged internals, a new engine management system and a fuel cell. The 500- horsepower combination is all linked up to an upgraded automatic transmission with a custom converter and B&M shifter.
This car ticks all the tacky modified Cavalier boxes. Things like a bright paint job, cheap-looking aftermarket wheels, a black hood stripe, a large exhaust tip and stick-on Chevrolet decals makes it look like an econobox with an owner that only thinks it’s fast, but in reality, it could take down a good majority of V8 Camaros and Mustangs driving around.
The seller hasn’t put a price for the car up yet, but said he’ll take the best offer he can get. If you’ve been looking for an inexpensive sleeper this car’s for you, it just needs a little TLC. Check out the listing here.
