Last year Opel announced a collaboration with Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams to design 10 unique Adam city cars. The Adams were all given black wheels, black trim and camouflage exterior graphics and will now be auctioned off online, with all proceeds from the sales going to the Bryan Adams Foundation.
Adams and Opel also collaborated with each other on a photo shoot for the special-edition Adam, which was later turned into a calendar called “THE ADAM by Bryan Adams.” The project was an opportunity for Adams to promote his charity, the Bryan Adams Foundation, which supports vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals in society and looks to advance education opportunities for children the world over.
“Bryan Adams told me a lot about his foundation during the shooting for our Adam calendar,” said Opel marketing chief Tina Müller. “Amongst others, the foundation is working on new learning opportunities in Afghanistan or global environmental projects. We wholeheartedly support these activities and would be delighted if our camouflage Adams achieve the highest possible proceeds.”
The seven cars which will be auctioned off all come with Opel’s 100 horsepower 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine, black leather trim, climate control, heated front seats, and a 7-inch color touch screen with General Motors’ IntelliLink infotainment system. If you’d like to get your hands on one of the camo Adams and support a good cause, head over to www.unitedcharity.de/OpelAdam to place a bid. The auction is open until November 21.
