Up for grabs (assuming you’ve got $80,000 to drop) is this eBay find: a monster 2,600 horsepower Chevrolet Corvette C5 with twin-turbochargers and a whole slew of other goodies. But act fast: only a few hours remain to make the car yours!
This 2000 Chevrolet Corvette is NHRA 25.3 certified for use at the dragstrip, while still being street legal – that is, if the seller is to be believed. It’s a relatively “quiet” cruiser with the electrically-actuated exhaust cut-outs closed, but you can open them up with the flip of a switch to get the party started.
The air-conditioning and power-steering are still functional, despite that every solitary bit of the engine has been upgraded to cope with a positively vulgar amount of horsepower. The turbochargers are massive 80 mm units, feeding into an intercooler good for up to 3,000 HP, and a Holley EFI system and MSD capacitive-discharge ignition see to the fuel and spark delivery.
“No expense was spared in this build” indeed. Best of all, the seller states that the asking price is nowhere even near the costs of the build, and looking at the parts list, we’d bet that’s 100% true.
