The bidding for a custom 1964 Chevrolet Corvette may have ended on eBay, yet we don’t expect this machine to disappear into a garage forever. With a new LS3 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, new custom suspension and braking assembly, it will likely show up at a track soon.
Officially, the custom ‘Vette is a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport replica with a LS3 pushing out 483HP mated to a 6 speed transmission. The seller says it has a high quality fit and finish and was featured in a Max Chevy magazine. It was priced at $89,950 and received three bids before the auction ended yesterday.
The seller says the car has the new LS3 engine that “propels this car like a bullet.” The engine is mated to a 6-speed T56 manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch. With a rear ratio of 3.55, the seller says it is both fast and fuel efficient hitting 24.7 MPG on a trip.
With the new, powerful engine on an older vehicle chassis, the seller says it was built with a custom tube chassis. This new chassis has C4 generation suspension and coilover shocks.
Also, the brakes were updated with a custom power brake mounting assembly with Wilwood brakes and slotted cross drilled rotors.
It also likely sounds good with its twin exhaust systems with electronic valving. The twin system has one quieter tube and one louder tube with open side pipes.
While the outside and performance is pretty awesome, the plush interior looks pretty great too. The seller says the car has been updated with new car features like: power windows , power seat , tilt column , touch screen navigation, 1000 watt sound , intermittent wipers and air conditioning. Also, it has sound deadening throughout. Overall, the seller says the car is really quiet and road noise is minimal.
With just 3k miles and a great look, this 1964 Corvette sold for nearly $90,000.
