At this year’s annual Cattle Baron’s Ball, one lucky (and likely, rich) bidder will win a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in his/her choice of color. This bidder will also receive a free two-day performance driving course in Ron Fellows Performance Driving School in Nevada, and can even opt to take delivery of their Z06 – one of the first – at the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky.
Don’t worry; we don’t imagine they’ll park it near the sinkhole.
The Cattle Baron’s Ball, as the name suggests, is a Western-themed charity event. It is hosted by the American Cancer Society annually in Metro Detroit, with the proceeds directly benefiting the ACS.
The to-be-auctioned Z06 in question is loaded with the Z07 performance package with carbon-fiber ground effects, Michelin performance tires, magnetorheological suspension, etc. But it’s not the first production model. That model went to Rick Hendrick at a Barrett-Jackson auction a few months ago.
The ACS has a history of acquiring donated cars to auction at the event; last year, a 2013 John Varvados Edition Chrysler 300C was on the auction block. The year before that, a customized Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca.
