The problem with custom cars is that you have to hope that someone shares your taste when it comes time to sell. Sometimes a custom may not be your thing, but the creativity and workmanship involved is enough to appreciate. In other cases, it’s just a bad idea, pure and simple. Which one would you say fits this Corvette on eBay?
According to the seller, this Corvette is one of nine built by Z&M Customs for the movie Transformers 2. They are complete turnkey cars whose styling was inspired by a Corvette show car from a few years ago that itself was inspired by the 1963 Stingray. This one here is based on a 2006 C6 whose “engine, mechanicals, and interior were retained” while the body panels were removed and replaced. As far as Corvettes go, this one is optioned like a lot of them, with air conditioning, black leather, removable roof, dual-zone climate control, 3LT package, heads-up display, Bose stereo with 6-CD changer, XM satellite, and more. Extras include cold-air intake, electronic hood with dash switch, custom exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, and scuff plates.
This 59,900-mile Corvette is currently at $6,501 without a reserve. It remains to be seen how high it gets bid up, but it’s certainly one of the more unusual late-model Corvettes out there.
