Take a look at this 2004 Hummer H1 mobile command task unit on eBay and tell us your mind’s not already thinking of all of the things you could possibly do with a monster machine like this.
The seller states that this H1 was built for the U.S. Navy to provide “telecommunication capabilities and a range of modular mission specific tools at mass casualty scenes where [a] temporary broadband footprint is required.” With only 18,428 miles on the clock, this mobile command center has barely seen service. A satellite communications connection that “provides up to 756 kbps of bandwidth” is but one of the of the cool features that come with this behemoth.
But what else could you do with this Hummer? Well, the seller gives us a few ideas regarding this big girl’s potential: “The electronics can be taken out easily and this vehicle can be used as an extreme [off-road camper] … [it could also be used for] storm [chasing] or towing race boats.” Personally, we love the idea of an off-road Hummer camper.
With a $380,000 “Buy it Now” price, buying this H1 will certainly leave a dent in your wallet (though the seller is entertaining offers) but, then again, how often do you have the chance to buy a Hummer that’s also a mobile command center?
