Prototypes of Opel’s next-generation Corsa hatchback have been frequently spotted at various times since last year. The updated hatchback will get an all-new interior, new engine options and some exterior revisions, including a new front end carrying the DNA of the hot Adam city car. The next Corsa is no secret, so Opel figured they might as well acknowledge its existence with a short teaser video.
At the beginning of the video, there is an up-close and personal shot of the Corsa’s Adam-esque front fascia. The car then pulls out of a garage for some serene, silent driving on a few empty roads. It might not be the most thrilling car video you’ve ever watched, but it gives us a rare look at the new Corsa in action apart from the previously seen spy shots.
An interesting note to pull away from the video is the complete silence of the car while it’s driving. This leads us to believe it may be packing one of Opel’s new Ecotec engines under its hood, which have been described by the automaker as the smoothest, quietest engines in their class. The Corsa could adopt the 90 and 115 horsepower 1.0-liter turbocharged engines slated for use in the Adam, in addition to a new range of diesel units.
Check out the video below and let us know if seeing it in motion has changed your opinion of the new Corsa.
