The world was greeted with the current-generation Chevrolet Malibu in 2012 at the New York International Auto Show, only to launch later that year. The results of which could have been more successful for the American brand, where it got bad enough to call for an emergency refresh the following model year. Sales have increased, but not by much.
Fast forward to today, and spy photos have emerged of a heavily disguised mid-sized sedan testing out in China. Hints that it very well could be the next-generation 2016-2017 Chevrolet Malibu is the interior layout, which closely matches the design style of the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze.
