General Motors is recalling third-generation Cadillac CTS-mid-size sedans for a defect involving the vehicle’s windshield wipers.
The problem: According to GM, if the wiper stalks are left in the “on” position and the car is then turned off, the wipers may become restricted by something such as heavy snow, which will run the battery flat. Once the car is flat and a jump start is performed, the wipers won’t work.
Number of vehicles affected: In total, 19,225 CTS sedans are involved in this recall.
The fix: The front windshield wiper module will be replaced by dealers. GM has not yet said when it will begin the recall, however owners should expect to receive a notification requesting they bring their vehicles into a Cadillac dealer shortly.
Contacts: Owners may contact Cadillac at 1-800-458-8006 for more information.
