Chevrolet, in part with MOFILM, asked aspiring filmmakers to submit a short movie in time for Mother’s Day, with the winner’s piece being aired on TV around the holiday. The winner, Jake Viramontez of Los Angeles, recently had his film chosen from 13 other finalists on the MOFILM website.
Viramontez’ film, “The Extra Mile,” is about a dad whose crying baby wakes him and his wife up early on Mother’s Day. Instead of letting the wife take care of it, he gets up and takes his child on an early morning drive in his Chevrolet Equinox, letting the mom sleep in on the one day when her enormous efforts are recognized. When he returns, in typical Mother’s Day tradition, he brings her breakfast in bed.
