We see new spy shots of prototype vehicles nearly every week. The vehicles are usually wearing some type of camouflage meant to cover-up any details the manufacturer might want to hide, but more often than not they can be easily identified. This new set of photos from TFL Car is a little different though, it looks like some type of Chevrolet, but we can’t pin point exactly what it may be.
TFL Car points out it could be the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. It looks much different than the existing Volt, however it appears to have a hatchback which incorporates the large rear window pane, just like on the current car. It also appears to have the same two red light strips which are seen on the lower rear bumper of the Volt. The only detail throwing this assumption off is the small exhaust pipe sticking out from beneath the rear bumper, though this doesn’t mean we aren’t looking at the next-generation car.
It’s hard to say exactly what this prototype may be considering Chevrolet has at least three different small cars currently under development. We have seen spy shots of both the next-generation Chevrolet Spark and Cruze, and to our eye, this prototype looks like neither. However we still haven’t seen official photos of the U.S. market 2016 Cruze, so we’re not ruling anything out. If you think you might have a guess, check out the photos here and let us know what you think the mystery vehicle might be in the comments below.
