Vice President of Global Cadillac, Bob Ferguson, told reporters at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit what he thinks of rumors that Cadillac’s next crossover might wear an Escalade badge.
“I just think the Escalade is a strong brand within Cadillac and I think we should exploit that,” Ferguson told AutoGuide.
Reports have indicated that a three-row crossover from Cadillac is in the works, due out in 2016. Rather than re-install the third row in the SRX, Cadillac will, allegedly, introduce an all new model to fill that void.
Ferguson hinted at Cadillac’s future product development plans, saying “crossovers like the SRX are our biggest seller.”
The new Escalade will arrive on showroom floors this spring carrying a base price of $71, 695. Ferguson told AutoGuide that he expects a large sales boost with the new model.
