GM’s new $200 million Arlington stamping plant is the 10th contiguous stamping plant to come on line in GM’s global operations in the last five years. It adds 180 jobs to the Arlington manufacturing complex, and at the same time, will save about $40 million in logistics costs each year. And it’s now operational.
To culminate the event, GM, the GM Foundation and UAW leaders announced $75,000 in contributions to local charities. They are: the River Regency Foundation ($7,000), the Arlington Independent School District Foundation Teacher Grants ($10,000), Arlington Independent School District GREEN ($10,000), the Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail ($7,000), Community Food Bank ($7,000), and United Way of Tarrant County ($34,000).
