People find all sorts of vehicles to drip a Chevrolet LS V8 engines into, Mazda RX-8’s, Subaru BRZ’s and even a Geo Tracker. We thought we’d seen it all, how can it possibly get any more ridiculous? Well, check out this eBay find: a quirky 1964 Citroën ID19 with a Corvette LS1 V8 under the hood, producing over 400 horsepower.
The Citroën ID19 and its more luxurious twin, the Citroën DS were two of the most advanced cars of their time when introduced in 1955. The DS is known for being the first car to have front disc brakes, power steering, and directional headlights. The DS and ID also featured automatic leveling hydro pneumatic suspension, allowing for good handling and excellent ride quality.
This ID has a custom rear wheel drive chassis by Art Morrison, a four wheel disc brake setup by Wilwood, and a fully overhauled suspension setup to keep things in order when managing the weight and power of its 5.7 liter V8. The custom interior no longer resembles that of a Citroën ID, it has air conditioning and even a roll cage.
The winner of this bid will receive an autographed guitar and tour photo courtesy of rock star Alice Cooper, who drove the car on multiple occasions to play golf. If that’s not enough, you also get the opportunity to play golf with the rock legend in Arizona. The opportunity to hang out with Alice Cooper is cool and all, but this is one expensive Citroën, with a reserve price of $115,000.
