As they’ve announced, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has gone and strapped a TVS1900 supercharger to the top of the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 nestled in the engine bay of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, giving the full-sized truck a healthy 397 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on 93 octane pump gas. Those keeping score may note that GM’s 6.2L V8 motor offered in the 2014 Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 punches out a more substantial 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft.
Still, how does the Lingenfelter Silverado fare in the quarter-mile test? 13.89 seconds at a speed of 100.07 miles per hour, to be exact. Impressive stuff for a half-ton pickup.
