The 500 horsepower 4.5L twin-turbo V8 engine powering the Cadillac Elmiraj concept seems a little too possible to be just a concept powertrain. And while it could very well be one of the engines offered in the upcoming Cadillac LTS Flagship, Carscoops is reporting that the force-induced engine will find itself in a variant of the C7 Corvette, what they believe to be the Z06 (which could also be named Z07). The 4.5L engine would also be tuned to belt out around 600 horsepower.
It would be a departure from the free-breathing nature that the Z06 has been for the past two generations, and we’re not sure we want to believe it. Corvette engineers have mentioned time and again that turbocharged engines tend to mess with the vehicle’s dynamics, citing space inefficiencies compared to a supercharger unit that requires far less plumbing.
