Sure looks better without all the coverings, eh? And aside from the column-mounted shifter, we see absolutely nothing in common on the inside of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade with the recently unveiled 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban or 2015 Yukon or 2015 Yukon Denali. This cabin is completely unique, and totally in line with the rest of the Cadillac lineup. Except it seems to appear more elegant, and more labor-intensive to produce. And if we didn’t know any better, we’d say that the wood has a matte finish.
No specific details were given, but October 7 isn’t that far away…
Looks like a big cts interior a bit more wood. This is deff an upgrade.. I like it but not as excited as I was about cts.. im not in the escalade income range yet
Column Shifter <3
Agreed. Having a column shifter still found on a truck is how I feel about manual transmissions in sports cars, they should stick around for a while.
Whatever Cadillac builds on the Lambda platform can have a console shifter/knob/ button/cobble and that’s fine.
Beautiful interior. It appears as though the new Escalade has reached a new level in luxury. I would’ve liked to have seen a different approach taken with the interior layout; something to differentiate it more from the rest of the Cadillac lineup. But this is the current theme of Cadillac: cut-and-sewn interior with rich wood, aluminum and plenty of piano black veneer dominating the CUE system. Elegantly laid out across a sea of premium leather. I love it!!!!! Let’s all pray that the CUE system has been upgraded and a new 8-speed is revealed…………October 7 can’t come soon enough!
The dance floor… I mean wood in the centre console/ cup holders doesn’t look very good.
I didn’t take note of the seats in the GMC/Chev platform mates, but those seats look to have nice bolstering considering it’s a truck.
Again, parts sharing of the column shifter ties the Escalade too closely to it’s downmarket, blue collar cousins.
$60K full size luxury SUV that can’t shake off the construction worker underpinnings. No wonder the GL walks over the Escalade in sales. Even Lincoln gets the shifter right.
I’m with you.
Looking at the lower right windshield above the Instrumentation Dash hump there appears to be a Square………….Is that a Heads Up display??????

Can’t wait for it.
While this has always been a high profit model GMs key to this model this time is to not only keep the profit but make it different enough to increase sales and give one a reason to spend more over the GMC.
In the past many paid for the grill and name but if they can raise the content it may really affect sale even more and increase profits. I like what I see inside but I just hope they take this up a notch over the GMC to lure even more to the next level.
I think it looks nice, totally in line with the rest of the lineup. To each his own, but I think having the shifter on the column frees up more console space. At least it’s not a bench seat too.
Cadillac, where are the ANALOG CLOCKS..???????
Back in 2008 with the second gen CTS.
It would seem redundant to offer an analogue clock anyway if the CUE interface can just display the time. Even without CUE, the radio/stereo/audio interface can display the time without the need for an analogue clock.
This interior is proper. But I have a concern. I’m a fan of the column shifter, through and through…but it looks out of place with THIS interior. While I’m sure a case can be made for using one similar to the one found in the XTS, for example, I wonder what a rotary selector would be like?
Richard, we may not Agree on Everything but at least you Bring it regardless :), but this is a Great one and I’m thinking maybe they are holding off on the Rotary Selector for Either the 8 speed or one of those 9 or 10 speeds they are jointly working on with Ford……What do you think???????
No other luxury SUV has outsold the Cadillac Escalade…check your figures bro! Certainly not the Mercedes!
Oh really?

Escalade 2012 sales = 22,632
GL 2012 sales = 26,042
And that’s in the same full-size class. But if you’re going to say “No other luxury SUV has outsold the Cadillac Escalade”, then I only have to point to the X5 and the RX. Both, soundly and annually, outsell the Escalade.
I checked my figures, ‘bro’. Did you?
Isant the Escalade bigger than gl x5 and rx?
The X5 and RX, yes, the Escalade is bigger.
In the GL, however, there are slight differences, but they are nearly the same.
Escalade || GL
5,144 || 5,120 (lenght)
2,007 || 1,934 (width)
1,928 || 1,850 mm (height)
2,946 || 3,075 (wheelbase)
They are very close to each other. Unless you’re measuring them, the GL and Escalade are pretty much the same size.
I also checked the Q7.
5,088 (lenght)
1,984 (width)
1,737 (height)
3,002 (wheelbase)
Again, they’re all (the GL, Escalade, and Q7) rubbing shoulders with one another. The Escalade is hardly alone in being a full-size luxury SUV considering it’s such a lucrative segment.
It’s not like this is 2003 and the Escalade is alone in running the show. Other automakers have shown they can be just as big as the Escalade, and in some cases, more profitable and more sales worthy.
oh.. I really thought the Escalade was much bigger than all of these. on the road it deff looks larger in presence.. so yall cant say they arent doing that right
That interior looks so similar to that in the VF Commodore, including the steering wheel. Did Cadillac decide they liked the Caprice V interior?
