GMC aims to expand the awareness of its new premier pickup truck, the 2014 Sierra Denali, by featuring it during ESPN’s new “Monday Night Football” launch video that debuts on September 9, 2013. Officially titled “ESPN Monday Night Football Launch Engineered by GMC,” the opening theme was re-created this year by filmmaker/producer Peter Berg of Pony Show Entertainment.
The new launch video will be approximately 90 seconds in length while highlighting the 44-year history of MNF by featuring the biggest football moments from past MNF games along with images of significant cultural events stretching over the same time period.
Along with the cameo in the new spot, GMC will take the “Monday Night Football” experience to fans for a fourth year with a 12-stop national tour that will kick off the 2013 NFL season. Beginning September 7 in Washington, D.C. fans will be able to test-drive GMC vehicles, test their football skills for a chance to win ESPN Monday Night Football game tickets and signed memorabilia, and meet current and former NFL players. In addition, the tour will travel to 11 locations in Texas to promote the 2014 Sierra.
Big Red’s other football-related promotions involve the brand’s vehicles being featured in the latest installment of the Madden NFL video game series.
