Next-Generation Cadillac CTS On Track For 2013 New York Auto Show Reveal

GMA Garage - 2012 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe 4

With the Cadillac ELR strutting its stuff and winning design awards at the 2013 North American International Auto Show last week, many were left wondering when the third-generation CTS would show itself to the world. And it seems we will have to wait a few months before that actually happens.

According to an Automobile Magazine interview with Robert Ferguson, the former-lobbyist-turned-Cadillac-VP, the all-new 2014 CTS will be unveiled during the 2013 New York International Auto Show at the end of March, just after the Geneva show in Switzerland. Secondly, Ferguson also nodded that development of an ATS coupe continues, but wouldn’t elaborate on what’s happening beyond that, though everyone’s got a pretty good idea what to expect.

Lastly, Cadillac is not scheduled to host a press conference during next month’s Chicago Auto Show, so we aren’t expecting anything new there. Chevrolet, on the other hand, is.

I had an 05 and 08 CTS. Can’t wait to see what they come up with.

Had a 2006 3.6L pushing 245hp at the rear wheels (pretty decent considering that engine stock was 255hp at the crank).. So I was about 290hp without forced induction. Eibach springs, ADDCO sways, FE3 struts, front tower brace, had the sport appearance package with the stock 18s wrapped in Conti DW tires, factory arrow spoiler. Volant CAI, CTS-V exhaust, Aussie tune (actually it’s thanks to Australian tuning companies and the 3.6L Commodore that got me all the engine goodies). Slotted StopTech Sport rotors with PosiQuiet Cermaic pads.
I was hitting 32-34mpg on the highway. Loved it, but it got T-boned at only 110000km.

I just sold my 2009 3.6L RWD sedan back in November which is what I replaced my 06 with. It was stock except for Conti DWS tires.

I actually like the exterior look of the first gens more. They look more slim, edgy, and fast. But interior, obviously the 2nd gen takes that trophy.
With the 3rd gen jumping in price and size it doesn’t appeal to me as far as purchasing one goes, but I bet, and that’s a very safe bet, it is going to be an amazing looking and driving car with substantial toys and very well finished interior.

I graduate in May and I’m thinking a 3.6L RWD ATS will find it’s way into my garage by mid-summer.

    The CTS…..hmmm.

To this day, I thought I’d never see Cadillac crawl out of the grave it dug and come back fighting. If it weren’t for the CTS, Cadillac would be buried right alongside Lincoln.

I would shed a tear for Lincoln, but with the 3rd gen CTS coming, I can’t wipe the grin off my face.

This is the one ive been waiting for!! If its a gem (which i suspect it will be considering gmbis killing it lately) it will be the front runner as my next car. The standard of the world is coming back!! Now bring out the omega flagship and get aggressive in making cadillac global!

So with the CTS growing in size to compete with the 5 series, what will happen to the XTS? Won’t they be close in size? The CTS will kill XTS sales

This is very possible that the CTS will cannibalize the XTS. Or maybe the vehicles could exist in tandem, like the Lexus ES and GS, and sell just fine.

CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEW CTS! I have an 08 right now and seeing this will determine if that will be my next car or the ats will be. I also wanna comment on the Lincoln situation, theyre dead. theyre not putting out anything attractive and will soon be discontinued I feel. cant wait till caddy is the #1 luxury car in the world again
