SEMA 2012: More Info On The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition (With Video)
7
As previewed during the weekend, Chevrolet plans to release a limited-run Hot Wheels Edition Camaro. And seeing that the Camaro was one of the original sixteen Hot Wheels cars ever produced back in 1968, we find the fact that this is the first time Hot Wheels officially put its name on anything that is street legal a bit ironic.
The limited-edition Camaro will feature an eye-popping Kinetic Blue exterior coupled with unique graphics. The package will be available on 2LT and 2SS trim levels, and in both coupe and convertible variants. According to the press release, exterior highlights include:
- ZL1 rear spoiler (coupe models)
- ZL1 front upper grille
- Ground effects package, including front splitter and rocker treatment
- Black 21-inch wheels with red outline stripe
- Two-tone matte hood graphic and rear taillight panel “blackout” graphic
- Fender “flame” graphics
- Hot Wheels grille and decklid logos
If only the $6,995 Hot Wheels Edition style package was offered on the ZL1 Camaro… regardless, we expect this looker to be a hot commodity when it launches in early 2013.

Does the fact that I believe the Camaro is not a toy mean that I take myself too seriously?
Like the great philosopher Louis Chevrolet once said ” THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEN AND BOYS IS THE PRICE OF THEIR TOYS”
Sorry, but if I owned a Camaro, I wouldn’t want it looking like a kids $15 toy.
they need that or similar color available on any model not just Hot Wheels
7 grand for an appearance package? So for a 2SS plus 7grand it’s close to 45-46k
I would rather take an additional loan for 11 grand and just buy the ZL1
Or save the money and buy the body kit piece by piece and skip the hideous rims.
And custom paint it to what ever color you want.
Just my opinion.. But hey if you got the money why the hell not.
Someone at Chevrolet marketing needs a new job, as far away from the auto-industry as possible. The car would be fine without the HotWheels association and $7k pkg price. There are limitless special editions that could be done, and they choose the HotWheels to go into production…
I just ordered mine. I think it is bad a$$.
