GM To Recall 249,260 Late Model SUVs Due To Electrical Fire Risk

After launching an investigation that began earlier this year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration filing, General Motors will be recalling 2006-2007 model year GMT360 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier and Saab 9-7X sport utility vehicles due to a possible electrical short could affect power windows and door locks, and in some cases could cause a fire. For good measure, the 2006-2007 Isuzu Ascender will be recalled as well.
Another element to note is that this recall is regionally based, involving vehicles sold or currently registered mainly in the Northeast and Midwest states. These include:Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.
As usual, GM dealers will replace the driver’s master power window switch on Chevrolet, GMC and Buick models free of charge. However, Saab and Isuzu owners have been instructed to call the manufacturers’ customer service centers or the NHTSA safety hotline.

I have had a problem with my 07 trailblazer windows for about 3 years. They would intermittently work and door locks would also. My drivers side window is not working at all now. Went on internet to see how to fix so I could figure cost at mechanic and came across article regarding recall. Never notified of it so I called the number to Chevy and told mine was not included in recall yet same problems mentioned in article minus fire thank god. Told I could have it inspected at dealer for a cost. Thatis ridiculous it would cost double for them to tell me what my own mechanic would tell me at little or no cost. Filed complaint with NHTSA
