GM India To Launch Sail Hatch In Q3 2012

According to a Vice President of GM India, the hatchback variant of the subcompact Chevy Sail will be available for purchase in India in the July-September 2012 timeframe. The car was initially shown to Indian consumers in January at the New Delhi Auto Show.
“We would be launching the Sail in Q3 and the small car segment along with the multi-purpose vehicles will continue to be our main focus,” said Vice-president of sales S. Sawhney.
That multi-purpose vehicle referred to above is none other than the MPV version of the Sail, which was shown in concept form back in January at the New Delhi Auto Show. The Sail MPV will fit 7-8 people (that’s 7-8 people in a B-class vehicle!) and will most likely be available in other developing nations, including countries in Latin America and Africa, among others.
