Workplace comedy. What’s funny about work? Nothing. It almost seemed like a formula destined for failure, until America was introduced to NBC’s The Office. Then Steve Carrell left the show, and hearts were broken. Work, even scripted work, went back to being routine and droll.
At any rate, it’s the same mind behind the popular NBC show, Randall Einhorn, that directed the latest wave of Chevrolet dealership ads titled “Under the Blue Arch“. The same theme from The Office can be found in them, however brief. But what if this cast were to spin off into its own show?
Sure, the 30-second spots have some mild amusement to them. But as a full-fledged show? That would be taking things a bit… far. However, GM’s chief marketing officer Joel Ewanick has given it some consideration. At least that’s what he told Automotive News. Never say never, we suppose. But judging by the amount of dislikes for some of the videos on YouTube, we wouldn’t say it’s a great idea.
