Andy Pilgrim never won at Long Beach. Actually, Pilgrim hasn’t won anything since 2009. But after the 31-lap, 1.968-mile street circuit Pirelli World Challenge race, Pilgrim doesn’t have to worry about either of those things anymore. After leading for the final 22 laps, Pilgrim was able notch another win under his belt, while being his first at Long Beach.
Pilgrim experienced minimal issues during the caution-free race. The same can be said for teammate Johnny O’Connell, who finished third. With the points updated, Cadillac Racing now leads the manufacturer’s standings with 25 points, while O’Connell is first in driver’s points with 374.
Next up for Team Cadillac is the Utah Grand Prix at Miller Motorsports Park on April 27-28. And those looking to watch the action they missed, round 3 of the Pirelli World Challenge Series will broadcast on NBC Sports, Sunday, April 29 at 3-4:30 p.m ET.
