Before we begin, it should be noted that the 12 quickest qualifiers in the American Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship combined GT category eclipsed the class qualifying record set in 2010 at 2:01.150. So we can expect an incredibly fast GT class for tomorrow’s 12 Hours of Sebring, with Corvette Racing and their new wide-body C6.R race cars right in the heat of it all.
Of the two cars, the No.3 C6.R posted the faster time, lapping the track in just 1:58.996. The No.4 car finished just .011 seconds behind, finishing with a time of 1:59.007. However, the team has their work cut out for them, as they finished behind a pair of Ferrari 458 Italias, one of which was over a half-second faster around the track at 1:58.427. Things are bound to get chippy out there, so be sure to tune in tomorrow on ABC starting at 12:00 PM (for our American readers).
