The Cadillac ELR. AKA the Converj Concept. AKA the Chevy Volt 1.5. AKA what GM should have built before the Volt because its technology and price tag are more appealing as a Cadillac. We’re expecting it to arrive in about 1.5 to 2 years time, so these photos seen on Autoblog featuring a Chevy Volt with a manufacturer’s plate, a cabin full of equipment and big, shiny chrome wheels all indicate that development is going along as it should and on schedule.
Underneath the otherwise inconspicuous looking Volt is the ELR’s plug-in-extended-range-electric drivetrain, supplied by A123 Systems. We have no hints on what the ELR’s electric range will be at this time, but it’s easy to imagine it matching or exceeding the range of the Volt’s.
