This 1996 ad is the launch commercial for the first electric car from an American automaker. Enjoy the ad while pondering how far the auto industry, and GM, have come in the last decade-and-a-half.

I had the opportunity to speak to a man who had one of these lease only cars. He loved it, and didn’t want to turn it in. He said that his never had any issues, and ran very well on the highway. I would like to drive one myself, but they’re all in museums now.
We could “borrow” one for a few…
WHY doesnt chevy efer bring this up in thier ads for the volt. i mean wouldn’t it be a selling point that gm had the first mass produced electric car?
