Today’s quote of the day comes from none other than GM Authority Opinionated Opinionator Hylton Jorssen. Upon watching (yet again) Chrysler’s Super Bowl XLV ad starring Eminem and the new 200C, Hylton vehemently proclaimed:
“They Just Called A Sebring A Luxury Car!”
At the end of the day, I think it’s safe to say that Chrysler’s commercial was nothing short of pure genius. Unfortunately, it promoted the wrong brand… and the wrong car. Agree? Talk to us in the comments below! Continue importing from Detroit.

General Motors Europe has big plans for the Geneva Motor Show coming up in March with plans for Opel and Chevrolet to premier two new models and a concept.
Opel will introduce the production version of Ampera extended range electric vehicle alongside a refreshed Corsa hatch and Antara crossover. Also making an appearance for Opel will be the Zafira Tourer Concept — a car that’s been called a “lounge on wheels”. Continue lounging.

Opel has given its smallest car, the Corsa, some tweaks and changes for 2011. The exterior now features a brand new front fascia and a new exterior package called “Linea” which adds 17″ wheels in gloss black or white along with matching body stripes.
A new 1.3-liter CDTI EcoFlex engine producing 95 HP is equipped with Stop/Start Technology delivering 4.2 liters per 100 KM in urban driving — roughly the equivalent of 56 MPG.
On the inside, the Corsa gets a new “Touch & Connect” infotainment system with a five-inch touch screen, navigation, Bluetooth, as well as USB and AUX connections. The refreshed Corsa will make an appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Continue for the presser

Have a seat, Ford Sync. Chevrolet has finally entered the 21st century with the introduction of Chevrolet MyLink, the latest automotive infotainment system that allows drivers (or passengers) to access a plethora of apps through a Bluetooth connection between the car and a smartphone such as an Android or a Blackberry. Apple devices such as the iPod Touch and iPhone are just as functional, though they will need to be plugged in via a USB cable. The Chevrolet MyLink system will first be available on the 2012 Equinox and Volt models, with hopefully more to be announced down the road. This is huge! Continue linking.

A new change in GT rules allowing the use of paddle shifters has the Corvette Racing team fine-tuning their new setup on the track. Continue for the video after the break.

File this one under foul play: according to a report from Motor Trend, a Florida-based dealership is listing a Chevrolet Volt for $65,590 — nearly $15,000 higher than the Volt’s suggested retail price of $41,000 (before tax breaks). Hopefully nobody falls for such price gouging.
The dealership is most likely not a part of the AutoNation dealership network, which warned that if any dealership pulled such a stunt, they would be cut-off of the network, which is the largest in the United States.

Following a flurry of reports signaling the future demise of the GMC Acadia, here’s a change-up of epic proportions: according to Cheers & Gears, the Acadia will not be discontinued. Instead, the next-gen full-size crossover from GMC will shrink — moving to the Theta Premium platform that currently underpins the Cadillac SRX (and impending Saab 9-4x). Continue underpinning.
