Okay, so you can get the ground effects package installed on you 2011 Chevrolet Camaro in you like, but this one-off Chevy Camaro SS seen in spy photos posted on Autoblog is about as visibly maxed-out as we’ve seen since SEMA. Probably the most noticeable element is its duck-tail spoiler, followed by the modified grille that seems to be shared with the Chevy Camaro SS Convertible Indy 500 Pace Car that went up for auction at Barrett-Jackson over the weekend. Then there happens to be the headlights, which seem ready to kill a vampire if they had to. For a full gallery, hop over to Autoblog via our link below.

Reason no. 347 why the Chevrolet Sonic is not to be confused with the forsaken outgoing Aveo: the Sonic will actually get better gas mileage than vehicles larger than itself. For example, take the old Aveo’s rating of 35 mpg on the highway compared to the larger, late Chevy Cobalt, which achieved up to 37 mpg highway. It seemed that the frugal Aveo was pointless in that regard if you think about it. In fact, our own Alex Luft observed a dismal combined 18 MPG during his time with the subcompact. As for the Sonic, GM expects it to achieve the coveted 40 mpg mark right off the bat, bypassing the larger Chevy Cruze (non ECO) model’s mark of 36 MPG. Continue reading.

Okay, from this video it seems clear that the Chevy marketing team wants consumers to have it in their heads that the Cruze is better than the Elantra, and that hopefully they don’t do their homework to find out that there is in fact a new Elantra out and about that puts up much more of an even fight. So, Will we see similar videos comparing the Cruze to the outgoing Civic when the new one rolls out? How about comparing the Cruze to the outgoing Ford Focus?
Hats off if you can finish the video without shaking your head… let alone even finish it. Continue for the video.

Heading down for the Super Bowl XLV in Arlington, Texas? If you have a GM vehicle equipped with OnStar, this news is for you. Super Bowl organizers have said not to use GPS to help alleviate confusion over road closures, but rather to use the printed directions on their parking pass. However, OnStar will be offering its subscribers access to secret routes and road closures via their turn-by-turn direction service. A group of specially trained OnStar advisers will relay information during the event to help owners get to the game. The best part is that the turn-by-turn service will be free to all OnStar subscribers during the big game — and everybody likes free stuff. Continue for the official press release.

After losing the No.1 sales spot in the U.S. market that it had for 76 years to Toyota back in 2008, General Motors looks to be making a comeback with its newly found momentum. For instance, 2010 sales for Toyota tallied to 8.42 million vehicles, while General Motors finished breathing down the Japanese company’s neck, selling 8.39 million. Additionally, Chevrolet sold more than the Toyota nameplate for 2010 and GMC, Buick and Cadillac posted higher sales percentage gains than any other brand. Will 2011 be the year GM is back on top? From the looks of things, it looks very possible.

One question for ages that Inside Line hoped to answer with this latest comparison test is: just what supercar can pull of the longest burnout? We won’t spoil anything, but we will tell you that the winner managed to lay down a skid mark of 323 feet and 7 inches. Continue for the video.
