A congenial GM Authority reader (who also happens to be a lucky owner of the new Buick LaCrosse in this photo) snapped this pic of two Tri Shield rides side-by-side. Yours truly experienced an odd sense of nostalgia to see two Buicks that were designed and engineered in completely different eras of The General’s existence: one is (we’re guessing) a 1965 Wildcat – Buick’s big and sporty muscle car – while the other is none other than the 2011 Buick LaCrosse (our review here). Boy how much cars have changed in the last 40+ years…

Continuing its march to provide small, fuel-efficient, yet fun cars for the global automotive market, General Motors South Africa will begin building the new Chevrolet Spark at its Struandale Plant in Port Elizabeth beginning in 2012.
The Spark will join the Chevrolet Corsa Utility as well as the Isuzu KB at Struandale during the first quarter of 2012. The tiny hatch was launched in South Africa in August and is currently imported from Korea. Continue reading.
